Increased Lidar sensitivity
Improvements to the lidar software now enable BLK2FLY to scan objects with lower reflectivity, such as black roofs, wet stockpiles, and dark cars, from greater distances. This not only allows BLK2FLY to capture more details but also enhances the overall point cloud density. The increased sensitivity also enables faster scan speeds, allowing you to cover larger areas in the same time frame.
Note: While this feature does enhance performance, it might have a slight impact on scan accuracy. For high accuracy results, it’s recommended to disable this option.
Higher flight speeds:
Now, you can fly up to twice as fast indoors and outdoors (with obstacle avoidance). This means you can cover more ground in each flight. And together with the increased sensitivity mode, you’ll still maintain the same density of points.
Here are some details about the new speeds and how to set them:
Max velocity (Flight → Velocity limits): This is the maximum speed you can use when using the joysticks or using tap to fly or automated return features.
Max scanning speed (Scanning → Scan Velocity): This speed applies only when starting scans from the New Autonomous Scan popup (the “+” button) and only if its value is lower than the Max velocity.
Greater Exploratory Scanning limits
Our internal optimizations now enable you to plan and explore much larger areas than ever before. Imagine autonomously exploring large landmarks like the Notre Dame in Paris or the Pyramids in Egypt! We can't wait for you to try it out!
Japan Remote ID
We now support Japan Remote ID! You can easily import your registration profiles directly from the DIPS website to your drone.
Custom 2D Maps:
We're excited to offer a new feature for areas with outdated satellite imagery. You can now import your own custom geoTIFF image file and display it as a base layer in 2D view. It's easy to set up right from the Settings menu (Scanning → Custom 2D Map). We hope this improves your scanning experience and gives you the flexibility you need!
Communication Loss Actions:
This feature allows you to customize what happens if your iPad loses connection to the BLK2FLY. You can choose to do nothing, initiate an automated return after a set timeout, or even have the BLK2FLY complete the current scan before returning. This flexibility is designed to give you peace of mind and better control over your flight operations!
Distance Measurements
A new “Measurements” button in scan preview screens provides an additional option to measure distances, in addition to measuring volumes. By tapping multiple points, you can view the individual and total distances between them. You can also export and share the measured distances as a PDF.
Battery update v3.2
Resolved the occasional red blinking issue at the end of a charge.
Prevented low discharge when the battery is left in the BLK2FLY.
Improved detection for charge completion when charging to 30% or 60%.
Enabled auto-discharging while the battery is still inside the Multicharger.
Plus, other internal improvements for better performance.
Sensor Monitoring: For your safety, takeoff is now prevented if the BLK2FLY is moving.
Project Browser: Now you can upload entire projects to RCS with a single tap.
Multicharger:
We have made it easier to remove a Multicharger from the app.
Multicharger update availability is shown more prominently.
Korean language support
Automatic 3D Map Clearing: The logic has been improved so that the map clears whenever the system loses positioning.
Path Planning: We've reduced situations where BLK2FLY seemingly gets stuck by improving its path planning capabilities.
App-Related Fixes: We've fixed issues where 3D exploration blocks would sometimes shift to incorrect locations during exploratory scanning.
Cold weather: Improved lidar performance in low temperatures.
Landing Enhancements: You can now nudge upwards at a higher maximum speed during landing, enabling more reactive and safer adjustments.
Joystick Improvements: We've improved joystick sensitivities for more natural and responsive control when yawing and changing altitude.
